When I first spotted this piece for sale on a Facebook sale site, I was smitten.
How sweet is this antique dresser with that amazing mirror and great detail on the drawer fronts?
Sigh.
I needed to make this sweet girl over.
The hardware was all original, too.
I was taken.
I was fortunate enough to buy her…there is such competition for good pieces in my neck of the woods.
It is like playing the lottery!
I always feel like I won if I score a desired piece!
I chose to paint her in a combination of Miss Mustard Seed’s Milk Paint in Trophy and Annie Sloan’s Old White on the details.
I used the bonding agent on this piece as she had a bit of a shine on her.
I wanted to control the chipping and distress her as I wanted.
I distressed her with a sanding block and sealed her in Miss Mustard Seed’s Hemp Oil.
She was pretty, but now she is D…I…V…I…N…E.
Seriously sophisticated and lovely.
It is hard to capture just how pretty she is, but I assure you she is fabulous!
My love for milk paint continues to live on
